Metacam German Shepherd I've Got A 13 Year Olf German Shepherd ...?

I've got a 13 year olf German Shepherd ...? - metacam german shepherd

.. and drank lots of water and incontinence as a result of not in the house, and sometimes even today, until you stop in the garden. The vet said diabetes mellitus is possible (apparently the blood test be (re) do not appear. The blood came with nothing remarkable. The vet also suggested that if the dog is in pain, they may drink too much. The vet also mentioned that only an old dog may have a dysfunction of the brain that causes excessive thirst. anybody similar experiences or advice on this question please? Currently, the dog is on Metacam expressing pain as possible. ... Thank you .

Your urine is similar to that of water? Clear and little or no odor? (FP speak or "low density")

Ask your veterinarian to treat the drug (there are two I know insipidus) for diabetes. This problem is completely different than the famous "sugar" diabetes.

DI tests can kill the dog (there is a lack of water and can test your dog to "crash cause"). Instead, if the DI is suspected, try cheaper drugs, and if we do not see an improvement, the more expensive (but not very expensive) drugs. If the dog responds to one of them, we know what the problem without expensive tests to perform and dangerous.

With appropriate medication can live DI dogs have a normal and healthy.

Often, the vets do not know DI think when they look at this problem. I do not know why, but DI increasingly common.

i havent heard increased thirst Metacam, but many other things can. No obvious diabetes - kidney problems (very common in older dogs for sale - has that been tested?) Stress (very common on the drink - and stress may experience pain or illness and the development will be purchased circumstances), anxiety, boredom, change Over time we have in recent times (depending on where you are that one lol ....) In terms of disturbance of the brain - and all of us and I suspect it might be a possibility. Your dog shows signs of selinity be any different? I would try to exclude everything else, before accepting a diagnosis.

Back to the vet, a urine sample should show diabetes. If not, there is a drug called Propaline which helps incontinence in dogs.
But 13 is a good age for a large dog, so I hate to say it, but it can lead to a cure. Of course, I love you, and I'm sure you've given a good life, so most of my time with others.
We are all with you this!

Metacam can cause kidney failure and excessive thirst dilute (clear) urine are symptoms. I would like to speak with the vet about Metacam and stop the transition to a natural approach to the joint, in addition to a combination of glucomsamine / chrondroitin / MSM.

It's good to know that his blood again OK - maybe your bladder is weakened, as it is to get more - and not like us humans! The weather has been hot lately so this could explain their increased water consumption. I'm constantly filled bowl of little boys at the time. I hope it goes well.

Metacam may cause the dog to drink too much or had a dog pills for joints of HES and drank a lot, so they can see if there is no difference.

Your veterinarian is the blood showed that he is in renal failure is the cause we got over time, about 12, who had until 16 1 / 2 and a life is quite happy as a puppy again, costs more than 5000 , 00, and worth every penny, but ask your veterinarian to review or not, as you see fit, but do not live with failure, with no treatment, so if you do not enjoy in peace and with him to win you are not afraid to stay on Yahoo, the ten commandments of dog ownership can see, you have to choices that give a great comfort
